IELTS

IELTS is a globally recognized English proficiency test for non-native speakers, often required for study, work, or migration. It evaluates four key skills: Listening, Reading, Writing, and Speaking. IELTS is accepted by over 10,000 institutions in 140+ countries. There are two versions: Academic (for higher education) and General Training (for work and immigration). Scoring ranges from 1 to 9 bands, with each skill scored individually and averaged for an overall band. Test-takers can choose between paper-based and computer-delivered formats. A good IELTS score is often essential for visas, university applications, or job opportunities abroad, especially in the UK, Australia, Canada, and New Zealand.

PTE

PTE is a computer-based English test widely accepted by universities, governments, and employers worldwide. It assesses Reading, Writing, Listening, and Speaking through AI-driven scoring, which ensures objectivity and faster results—often within 48 hours. There are three types: PTE Academic, PTE General, and PTE Young Learners. PTE Academic is commonly used for study abroad and migration purposes. The test includes integrated tasks, like summarizing spoken texts or describing images. PTE is especially popular for Australian and New Zealand immigration. Its user-friendly format, quick result turnaround, and worldwide recognition make it a strong alternative to IELTS.

JLPT

The Japanese-Language Proficiency Test (JLPT) under joint organization of the Japan Foundation and Japan Educational Exchanges and Services (previously Association of International Education, Japan) started in 1984 as a test to measure and certify the Japanese-language proficiency of those whose native language is not Japanese. In the first year the JLPT was conducted in 15 countries, and approximately 7,000 examinees took the test. Since then, the JLPT has become the largest Japanese-language test in the world, with approximately 610,000 examinees in 62 countries and areas worldwide in 2011. This success is entirely due to the support and cooperation of all involved.

JLPT certificates offer various advantages, ranging from recognition as academic credit and graduation certification at schools to preferential treatment at companies and acknowledgement of qualification in society.

Duolingo

The Duolingo English Test is an online English proficiency test that can be taken from anywhere with a computer and webcam. It evaluates Listening, Reading, Speaking, and Writing skills in under an hour. Affordable and accessible, it has become popular among students applying to universities in the U.S., Canada, and Europe. Results are typically available within 48 hours. Its adaptive format means questions adjust to the test-taker's level in real time. Duolingo also includes a short video and writing sample, sent to institutions along with the scores. Though newer than IELTS and PTE, it’s widely accepted and known for its convenience and speed.

NAT

The NAT test is a standardized Japanese language proficiency test similar in structure to the JLPT but held more frequently—up to six times a year. It is divided into five levels (5Q to 1Q) and includes Grammar/Vocabulary, Reading Comprehension, and Listening. While not as globally recognized as the JLPT, the NAT is widely accepted by Japanese language schools and vocational institutions. It's considered a practical alternative for students aiming to study or work in Japan, especially when timing doesn’t align with JLPT dates. Many use NAT as practice before attempting JLPT levels.

JLCT

JLCT is another Japanese language assessment used primarily for student visa applications and job placement in Japan. It tests Listening, Language Knowledge, and Reading skills. Like NAT, JLCT is held multiple times a year, making it a flexible option. The test has five levels from JCT1 (most advanced) to JCT5 (beginner). It is designed not only to test linguistic ability but also comprehension of everyday Japanese. Institutions in Japan, especially vocational and technical colleges, may accept JLCT results as proof of language proficiency. It’s a useful tool for learners seeking regular evaluation and fast test results.

JFT

The JFT-Basic is a Japanese language test created by the Japan Foundation for foreign nationals aiming to live and work in Japan under the Specified Skilled Worker (SSW) program. It focuses on practical communication skills in daily life and is aligned with the A1–A2 levels of the CEFR (Common European Framework of Reference). The exam is computer-based, with sections in Listening, Reading, and Grammar, but no writing or speaking parts. It is held regularly in multiple countries and is recognized by the Japanese government for visa processing. JFT is ideal for individuals seeking basic functional Japanese skills for employment.
